1. Who we are

This Privacy Notice is provided by Highway Urgency Response Team, LLC (trading as “HURT Roadside Assistance”, “we”, “us”), a Georgia limited liability company operating mobile roadside assistance services in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

2. Personal data we collect

  • Contact details — name, phone number, email address.
  • Service request details — vehicle year, make, model, tire size, breakdown location, service type requested.
  • Location data — GPS coordinates or address you submit (or that your browser shares when you tap “Use my location”) so we can dispatch a technician.
  • Payment data — handled by our payment processor (see Section 4). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Communications — SMS and email confirmations, support messages.
  • Technical data — IP address, device/browser type, and basic usage/telemetry needed for security and fraud prevention.

3. How we use your data and our legal basis

  • Performing the contract — dispatching technicians, contacting you about your job, processing payment.
  • Legitimate interests — preventing fraud and abuse, securing our site, improving our service.
  • Legal obligation — tax, accounting, and other regulatory record-keeping.
  • Consent — where you opt in to receive SMS or email confirmations.

4. Sharing your data

We share personal data only with categories of recipients that need it to deliver the service:

  • Service providers / sub-processors — hosting, database, email delivery (Gmail/Google Workspace), SMS delivery, and mapping providers.
  • Merchant of Record — Paddle.com Market Ltd. handles checkout, billing, payment processing, sales tax compliance, refunds, and invoicing on our behalf.
  • Dispatched technicians — receive your name, phone, vehicle details, and location to complete the service.
  • Professional advisers — accountants, lawyers, and auditors under confidentiality obligations.
  • Authorities — where required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use only essential cookies needed to operate the site. If we later add analytics or marketing cookies we will update this notice and provide a means to manage your preferences.

6. Data retention

We keep service-request and payment records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements (typically up to 7 years for financial records). Marketing contact data is kept until you opt out. After the applicable period we delete or anonymise the data.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including Georgia consumer-privacy law and, where it applies, the GDPR / UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise a right, email hurtroadside@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege credentials — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

9. International transfers

We are based in the United States. If you access our service from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses with our sub-processors.

10. Children

Our services are intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

11. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
